Step By Step

STEP 01
For a solid, environment friendly method of construction we use ground screws to minimum depth 1250 mm deep for our foundations ( depending on room use once built ) ground screws can go to a depth of 2m.
STEP 02
A 4″ by 3″ structural timber ring beam is now constructed ready for the 4″ by 2″ C16 timber joists to be installed. All of our buildings come with standard 100mm insulation as standard, upgraded insulation is available as an option.
STEP 03
Your new Garden Room starts to take shape! We install the walls, made from 4″ by 2″ timber lined with structural OSB boards, then complete with the front elevation, hand-built with window and door openings.
STEP 04
Building is now wrapped in a waterproof breathable membrane. The 5″ by 2″ roof is now formed with a slight fall from front to back on roof into a gutter and downpipe on back elevation. The roof construction is then completed using 18mm OSB board in preparation for the EDPM rubber roofing system that comes with a 25 year manufacturers warranty.
STEP 05
Insulation to walls and roof, plaster boarding and skimming now complete. We finish all our garden builds with 3 coats of high quality paint, flooring, skirting boards and final fix electrics including heating.
STEP 06
Battens are applied to the outside of the building, ready for our specially selected Canadian Cedar cladding and roof trims to be applied.
STEP 07
We add the external lighting and fit the doors and windows to keep your new Garden Room light and secure.
STEP 08
Once the windows and doors have been installed, we lay the flooring and skirting boards, and complete the fitting of any heaters / sockets and extras as requested.
